Republican For A Reason
Dec 23rd, 2008 | By admin | Category: BlogThe RNC has launched a new website where party members can offer their opinion of where the GOP is headed and how we can be better prepared for the future. They want to hear from our volunteers, activists, elected leaders, and party members as to what you think about the Republican Party as we rebuild, re-focus, and renew our bond with the American people.

My hope is that the RNC is headed for true conservatism and extreme opposition to the Democrats. I find it absolutely appalling the way Republican lay down and die (reaching across the aisle) when dealing with the Democrats. Democrats treat Republicans like animals at every juncture and yet we want to be “above it all” (New Tone) and it gets us rolled over and disrespected everytime. They play every dirty trick imaginable and STILL we New Tone everything. STOP IT or stay in the minority for a lifetime!
Small government
Less Taxes
Social Issues back to the States
Those three items are winners for all Americans who are sick of the centralized power the government has grabbed in the last 40+ years and will go with the party that gives the power back to the people!
So true. Our country’s government has moved away from the Republican ideals and became a different animal. We need to recapture the bright light that leads the way for our Repubican based belliefs… smaller, decentralized federal and local government; less taxes on the rich and companies so they can create more jobs for the jobless and create more income based upon their creation of new jobs to the federal and local economies. We must work to reinstill these beliefs into the population of Harris County, the State of Texas, and the Republic of the United States of America!
We must pull out all stops to prevent a relentless descension down the current and increasingly slippery slope that this country, including Texas, is headed. While Bill White has not been, in my opinion, a disaster to Houston [as was his
predecessor], we can not afford to allow him [as a candidate for the senate] to successfully create an Obama-like voting block in Harris county that my offset the popular vote throughout Texas.
Personally, and moreover, I am prepared to fully support Republican candidates, both locally and nationally, in an effort to bring a sense of “Americanism” not popularism back to our country. While my financial status may limit my contributions to talking, walking and bloging, I am sitting on ready.
I wanted to be involved, then I realized how important it was for others to get involved. It is changing everything about me. I know that together we can do so much more. My Party should be about the Platforms we have elected as a group. It is not about a single person. It should be about people dedicated to certain action. Committees should not be in place to serve a single individuals agenda. In fact, if it does try to be some individual’s playhouse, it surely will fall. But the people I have had the honor of meeting tell me that we are not that bad at all!
The conservative grassroots is critical to the development of the Party. No one individual can lead it. It is complicated but by our own efforts we can do wonderful things. We can return the Party to it’s roots. We can bring back cooperation among our neighborhoods. We can even put together a bi-partisan drive for certain initiatives. We can change how politics is perceived simply by getting involved and face criticism if we are wrong or right. I do not see the Republican Party as an evil that has to be slained. I see it being the best it can be through encouraging the outreach committee to go beyond it’s traditional way of doing business. To challenge it to use good programs that enlist cooperation across it’s membership and resources from the other committees to see that it stays on course.
Yes, Jared, the Republican Party can and will grow once again. But not without a challenge from others. So let us return to leadership through encouragement and model our committees after programs that work for the long haul. Let us work together as interested Party members whose time and efforts deserve the ear of it’s elected Chairmen. United We Stand, divided we would perish but we are not in that situation. In fact we have an opportunity to finally be heard and deliver good news by doing less in Government and more in our grassroots area. By taxing less and encouraging many to serve in the vital process that guards against official abuse. Remember the complete words of our Forefathers … GOD was and still is an important factor is being sucessfull!
As much as it grieves me, I believe that the Republican Party is about to go over a cliff, and take America with it. Of course, they are not the only ones to blame, the Dems are certainly doing their fair share.

I hated that we lost the last election but we have no one to blame but ourselves for not being proactive, engaging our youth, blue collar, single moms and other groups that would naturally by platform support our party. We have a LOT of National talent on the stage and I hope it is used and not over looked. We have to end that stigma that the GOP is a bunch of rich people that don’t care. I assure you I’m not rich, I support the party and I am keeping tally on voting records this go around. I am VERY upset with one of our Senators at this point and very proud of the other. Our elected officials better two very important things if they want to stay in office. Listen to the voters and keep their noses clean. I don’t care if you have a fancy law degree, own a multi-million dollar company, dress in Prada and Armani; I care that you are honest, have a spine, aren’t a crooked wheeler and dealer and you are in touch with the voters. I am very excited about some of the things I’ve heard about the HCRP and elated with Micheal Steele. Can we please get back to a small government that is for the people and by the people?!
